I also kept wondering if I should be recognizing some allegories in this. I've rarely read a book that built to and planted its finish so well. That finish made the book, in my opinion. The ending was very satisfying to me - she had constructed the storytelling and pace to end precisely on that note. It took me a while to sync to the storytelling cadence and pace.
